How is the London Tube aka Underground
Posted by kalengirlFeb 1
The London Tube is very similar to any other underground around the world, but I am just able to compare the Tube with the Subway located in New York City. There are a few differences, for example: the urine smell is not as strong as it is in NYC. On my trip to London last weekend, the few Tube station I visited did not smell bad. I must point out the Tube lines are more complex than the Subway lines (I know it must sound weird!) Perhaps numbers are easier for me to understand than names or because London goes from east to west and NYC from uptown to downtown?. Another thing was the voice coming out from the speakers has a British accent
In Panama, we do not have any Metro or Underground yet, but the current President Ricardo Martinelli is planning to build the first one.
If you are visiting London during the weekend and The London Tube will be your way of transportation I advise you to check which lines will be unavailable (there will be a few) while you are in London. Visit the official website
Transport for London and you will have access to live news regarding the tube service. Last weekend some lines were close and took me longer to get from Madame Tussauds to The Big Ben.
