I use mozilla Thunderbird as my email program, as well mozilla firefox as my browser :-) at the beginning I notice that every time I wanted to reply an email, it would start at the end of the previous email and not at the beginning of the email… I just moved the cursor at the top and started writing, not big deal I thought but a few weeks ago it became a big deal!! I knew the most be a way to make it go the cursor go to the top of the email by default. After looking, I found the solution.

I have windows Vista Home

1. In Thunderbird Go to Tools -> Account Settings…

2. then under your email account go to Composition & Addressing you (will have to do this for each account)
3. Make sure the “Automatically quote the original message when replying” checkbox is checked.
4. In the drop down box below, select the option “start my reply above the quote” (I wonder why this option is not a default)
