The time is almost here and the invitations have not been send.

I couldn’t find a way to stretch the budget, so I could buy the invitations I saw online, however I’m a designer (I don’t have any university backing me up on that…) so I thought “I can make my own invitations!” “It can’t be that difficult, right…”

It’s not so difficult after you know what design you like. I think finding a design is the most difficult step! There are so many different designs. Maybe there is one thing you like about one design and another thing from another design. And you can’t make up your mind! (At least that was my problem at the beginning).

One thing you need to keep in mind while looking for a design to make yourself, is the design should be easy to make, remember you might end making 100 invitations. Now that I just started making my invitations I’m realizing how long is going to take me to finish them all, and I only need to make 50 invitations.

If you don’t have one of those little thingies to cut paper, it will take you even longer to finish the cutting an most boring part of the making.

My weddings invitations have many parts that need to be cut. At least Boyfriend is helping me with the cutting part. The groom should be involve in the making of the invitations, I think the whole wedding planning should be done by both or both should be involve.

After you know what design you like, the next thing is to find a store where you can buy the things you need to make the invitations. Here in oxford we have many craft store, it was easy for me to find the things I needed.

The last thing is to make them! One advise is not try to make everything on one day or you might end hating everything, instead try to make the wedding invitations in many days by making a schedule of thing to be done, for example one day you can do all the cutting or part of the cutting and the next day you can put things together and so on.

By making your wedding invitations yourself you can save as much as 100 pounds! Every little helps.
